Nobody cares about your Internet

It's been two weeks now. Have you noticed? As of June 1, the AP's official opinion is that internet is no longer capitalized. Who cares?

Big news from the AP. But did you notice or care?

There's been plenty of debate on both sides for years, and plenty of coverage since the change was first announced in early April. So I won't rehash it here other than to say I don't mind the change because usage evolves even if we don't want it to, and it doesn't violate my cardinal rule of stetting.

No, really, my question here is whether anyone has noticed or cared outside of the editorial and journalism communities. Have you seen internet instead of Internet in a headline or news story? Did you even realize Internet was typically capitalized up until June 1? Do you have any opinion at all?
